Dr. Aaron R. Jones serves as Senior Pastor of New Hope Church of God of Waldorf, Inc. Under his pastorate is New Hope Community Outreach Services, Inc. and New Hope COG World Missions (Jamaica, Indonesia, Africa, Philippines). Dr. Jones also oversees New Hope Church COG Ghana (2 churches) and New Hope COG Uganda (3 churches).
Dr. Jones serves the International Church of God as a Church Revitalization Coach, Ministry to the Military Board, and the Special Ministries Task Force. Dr. Jones serves as Church of God’s DELMARVA-DC Regional Coordinator for the Ministerial Internship Program, Chairman of the Intercultural Advisory Committee, Member of the Strategic Church Planting/Revitalization Task Force Board, World Missions Board, and Chaplain’s Board. In his local community, Dr. Jones serves as a Chief of Chaplains for the Charles County Sheriff Office, Board Secretary for the United Ministers Coalition of Southern Maryland, Inc., Board Member of the VConnections in Waldorf, MD, Co-Chair of Religious Affairs Committee of the Charles County NAACP; Charles County Community Mediator; and Board Member of City of Refuge Baltimore.
Being obedient to 2 Timothy 2:15, “Study to show thyself approved…” Dr. Jones received a Doctorate in Theology and Pastoral Counseling from Life Christian University and a Doctorate in Christian Counseling from American Christian College and Seminary. He is a Certified Pastoral Counselor with the International Association of Christian Counseling Professionals. He is a member with the International Coach Federation. He is a Certified SYMBIS Facilitator.
Dr. Jones has published 37 books/workbooks, a soul-winning project, and an evangelism and discipleship training program. He has recorded two CDs. He is the founder and owner of God’s Comfort Ministries. He has been seen on TCT Network, WATC-TV’s Atlanta Live, Babbie’s House (hosted by CCM artist Babbie Mason), and on In Concert Today on DCTV. He has been featured on the cover of Change Gospel Magazine and Promoting Purpose Magazine. Dr. Jones has been heard on Radio One’s WYCB’s program, “The Praise Fest Show” and online radio, “Total Prayze.”
Dr. Jones not only serves God, but he has served his country as well. He served over 20 years in the Armed Forces. He is a retired Chaplain with the Army National Guard. He participated in both Operation Noble Eagle (2003) and Operation Iraqi Freedom III (2005). Dr. Jones is happily married to his wife, Sharon, for 24 years.
